UPDATE: Friday's event has been cancelled due to the weather, but we are hoping that it cooperates on Saturday.
2016 is the 100th birthday of our National Parks and as part of their centennial celebration, programs are being held across the country in conjunction with April's International Dark Sky Week. Locally, our club is joining the National Park Service (NPS) on Sullivan's Island to provide opportunities for the public to view the night sky through telescopes and binoculars.
There will be a brief presentation inside the Lifesaving Station before visitors are escorted to the stargazing field. In case of rain, the program will be rescheduled for Saturday, April 16, 2016.
This event will be held from 8:30-10pm at the Historic Lifesaving Station (next to the lighthouse), 1815 I'On Ave, Sullivan's Island, SC.
